Hello: My name is Meredith Gardner and a friend of mine told me about this speaking site - where I saw your event listed. As a behavioral psychologist, I've been working in the corporate world since 1981, as a consultant. I'm also an ordained interfaith minister. I'm intrigued by your topic regarding: To what degree is our identity a gift of others, and to what degree is it an individual accomplishment and responsibility? Do degrees of autonomy and dependence differ from era to era, culture to culture, and even from individual to individual?
I'm not clear what "To what degree is our identity a gift OF others? Do you mean from others, or to others? Or do you mean a gift of others, meaning from our parents???

I am a behavioral psychologist, with a speciality in personality. It's very interesting for me to talk about our personality and personal branding from the point of view of the identity that we inherited given our DNA, what we do with our identity, how much of it do we "own" or are conscious of, etc.

I'd be pleased to have some clarifications.

Also, I couldn't figure out whether there is an honorarium, whether expenses are paid, or anything like that. I wish I didn't have to be concerned about money, but I do.....

Please correspond with me at mgardner@strategic-edge.com

My best regards from New York City on a lovely Friday night,

Meredith Gardner

Nuts. Is there a group for Mormon Scholars in the Sciences?

Odd that both MHA and MSH have "the family" as the theme for their upcoming conferences. Is this a trendy focus among scholars at large, or is it peculiar to Mormon studies? Or is it pure coincidence?
