Steve Taysom is a historian of religion who earned a BA in history at BYU and MA and PhD degrees in the history of religion at Indiana University. His first book, Mormons, Shakers, and Religious Worlds, was published by Indiana University Press in 2010. The next year he edited a collection called Dimensions of Faith: A Mormon Studies Reader. Current projects include a scholarly biography of Joseph F. Smith and a study of exorcism in the LDS Church. He currently teaches at Cleveland State University, and lives in Shaker Heights with his wife and four children.
