BCC, now with 25% more awesomeness

BCC is proud to announce the addition of a few regular contributors to our line-up. Please welcome Melissa DeLeon Mason and Tracy M. They have both graced our pages with wonderful insight and we are looking forward to their continued writing.

Melissa M. is a self proclaimed loud and proud Texan who left that great state to attend Notre Dame, where she studied Political Science & European Studies and also where she joined the Church and married the illustrious Patrick Mason. After graduation, she worked with the local homeless population and became interested in issues of poverty. Melissa has taken the last few months to “find herself” and pursue art, selling her first painting earlier this month. She also looks forward to an Irish national championship.

Tracy M. is an artist, designer, and convert to the Mormon faith. Three little red-headed monkeys rule her days (and too often her nights). While her husband carves crop circles with a fork in the ice cream in the middle of the night, Tracy runs her own textile design company from her home. The Monkeys are 5 years, 3 years and 6 months old; writing keeps her sane. Seriously.

Tracy began blogging when a young childless woman on another blog wrote that stay-at-home moms lack identity and self esteem. Now Tracy maintains her own site, where you can read the letter she sent that woman, and is also a regular contributor at Mormon Mommy Wars.

Welcome aboard!

  1. Steve Evans says:

    Welcome Melissa and Tracy!

  2. Indeed. I am very pleased and look forward to all of your wonderful posts.

  3. 25% more like 125%

  4. Kevin Barney says:

A hearty welcome to you both!

  5. Proud Daughter of Eve says:

Could someone plese link to that letter Tracy wrote to the poor, delueded woman? I’ve dug around on her site but I can’t find it. :)

  6. Here’s the link– it’s my first post, first day.

  7. Tracy, I really like the banner on your blog. It seems almost like some kind of message. I just really like it. If you didn’t count them already, that’s three likes.

So are we going to get to see some art? C’mon. Please. :)

  8. Proud Daughter of Eve says:

Thank you for the link, Tracy. I like to think I would have found it if I weren’t fogged up with decongestants.

You were a lot more patient with that woman than I think I’d’ve been, which is a statement about my personality and not hers. Gaaaah, she puts my back up. But then, she also sounds a lot like my sister so I’d bet that would be why. :)

I really wish that modern feminists would see that by devaluing SAHM and all they do they’re just buying into the very same male-centered mythos of our culture that they are trying to fight.

  9. Woo hoo!
This’ll definitely get you that coveted spot.
Second best Mormon blog in the universe!
    Good Job.

  10. Welcome, welcome. I’m glad you two are on board!
