White-hot rage over the serious and credible allegations against the Church regarding failures of their “Bishop’s hotline” is understandable… But real change also requires discussions of the overlapping systems that these failures are products of. This is one such discussion.
Thanks so much for posting these links.
(My guess is you know Part’s Passio–following the Gospel of John, but I’ll recommend it to others nonetheless.)
Indeed. Everyone should listen to Passio. And Bach’s St. John Passion. And St. Matthew. And Poulenc’s Quatre Motets Pour Un Temps de Penitence. And Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs.
At least. :)
Thanks for this, Kristine. We did some Part a few years ago in the chamber choir of my choir in NC, and I loved it.
In fact, if it’s not too, too obnoxious, I’ll offer a previous set of recommendations, too: http://timesandseasons.org/index.php/2004/03/easter-music/
Don’t forget Allegri’s Miserere!
I had St. Matthew’s Passion going on my iPod on the train coming home this afternoon.
Beautiful, Kristine. Thanks for posting the links.
Thank you.
Who knew BCC did post-minimal music?
