Trouble of the World

We pray for our sisters and brothers killed in Charleston and for their families and friends. May God hasten the day when we beat our swords into ploughshares.

Comments

  1. Amen

  4. ProvoCenterStreet says:

    so sad.

what does it mean to say “the day when we beat our swords into plowshares” ?

  5. Jason K. says:

It means the day when we stop killing each other and cultivate peace instead. See Isaiah 2:2-4.

  6. The symbol of using our weapons to till the ground and grow food to feed all the hungry is very powerful indeed (and necessary).

  7. So love Mahalia Jackson. My favorite is “Some Children See Him”. I know it’s not Christmas, but I will hum this and todays post all day.

    Amen.

  8. Thanks for this.

  9. I cannot understand the hate that cased that young man to do something like this. So tragic. May God bless the families of those victims.
