#VirtualMutual on Saturday Night!

sw-gif-family-run

The first ever BCC #VirtualMutual is this Saturday night, and you’re invited! We’ll be watching and live-tweeting Saturday’s Warrior.

I have no idea if this is a good idea or if it’ll be like one of those mutual nights where only one nerd shows up, but here’s how it works:

  • At 8pm Mountain Time, go here and press Play.
  • Tweet your jokes, memories, dessert recipes, or spiritual impressions using the #VirtualMutual hashtag.
  • Follow the conversation here.
  • If you need tweet fodder, my delightful SIL Jessie made a bunch of Saturday’s Warrior GIFs. (Here and here, or on Google Image Search.)

See you online on Saturday night! If you need a reminder or want to invite your friends, RSVP here.

Comments

  1. I’m excited AF

  2. If anyone knows any actors from the film, tell them to watch with us!

  3. Saturday’s Warrior is literally my unapologetic, unironic fave. I’m not embarrassed to say that I cry every time I watch it. I hope I can convince my wife to do this after the baby’s in bed!

  4. Kevin Barney says:

Wow, they allowed bare shoulders in the preexistence!

  5. Kevin Barney says:

How could the afford the special effects when he went down? That is some high tech stuff…

  6. Kevin Barney says:

I suddenly feel the imperative to sire another child…

  7. Angela C says:

Late starter here. What’s up with the Star Wars style opening? Also, are they channeling Monson or what with this: “Hearts softened. Priorities reoriented. Children welcomed.”

I don’t think I am going to make it.

  8. Kevin Barney says:

I had the same Monson thought there! Great minds. (I’m just watching a little bit; I have to get up at 6:00 a.m. for ward conference meetings, so I need to go to bed pretty soon. But I’m liking the idea of a group Mystery Science Theater viewing.)

  9. Kevin Barney says:

Looks like a young Drew Carey portraying one of the missionaries.

  10. Kevin Barney says:

I hadn’t remembered that they spent so much time in the Preexistence.

Hey, Jimmy just mentioned Heavenly Mother! Is that the orthodox religion?

  11. Kevin Barney says:

Tracy, be sure to let us know what Bean & Co. think about it. I’m really curious as to their reaction.

  12. Kevin Barney says:

I can tell this is the later movie version and not the original play from the 70s…

  13. Kevin Barney says:

Uh oh, here comes the peer pressure…

  14. Kevin Barney says:

If they made it today instead of zero population maybe it would be global warming.

  15. Kevin Barney says:

But won’t anyone stop to think about poor little Emily waiting to come down?

  16. Kevin Barney says:

Uh, hate to break it to you, but “line upon line” doesn’t mean what you think it does…

  17. Kevin Barney says:

I made it to 53 minutes, but i’ve gotta tap out for bed. I may finish it tomorrow after church. Have fun with it guys!

  18. Whoa, hi guys! We’re over on Twitter if you’re in the mood: https://twitter.com/hashtag/virtualmutual?f=tweets&vertical=default

  19. Kevin Barney says:

I’m not on twitter, so I was reading tweets on this page and just adding a few comments here.
